This paper develops basic skills in communication taken from arts and design viewpoints. The paper explores and makes explicit a diverse range of skills from working in groups, to strategies for dealing with AI in communication.

There will be a number of guest lecturers, from the arts, who will lecture in their specialisms. This includes lecturers from Creative Writing, Music and Screen and Media.

This paper is taught with a combination of lectures and tutorials. As this is a synchronous flexi class, students can attend in person or via an online platform. Lectures will be recorded and be available for viewing on Moodle. Attendance at tutorials is important as there is substantial group work involved in this paper, and tutorial sessions will be where this is initiated and developed.

Assessment tasks are cumulative, so each task builds on the task before. This means students need to complete one task to move onto the next.
